There are approximately 210 pensioners in The Clarion Group Retirement and Dependants Benefits Scheme. There are 127 deferred pensioners and 83 pensioners. The number of dependants has not been given. Some members have died, having never seen a resolution to this unsatisfactory saga which has progressed in a slow and extremely costly fashion since 1994. In all recent dealings the pensioners are informed by one or two trustee's letters per year. These letters have generally asked or thanked members for their patience and outlined yet another new milestone to be reached. Occasionally the new milestone is certainly one that professionals could have foreseen. Whilst opinions were offered and suggestions made for member representation, the beneficiaries have never been officially asked their opinion or given member representation by their present representatives. A request for a meeting of members to ask questions was refused as "not logistically posible for the members" & "delay the important task of finalising members benefits".
